WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a form of semi permanent make up which is implemented using a handheld tool compromised of various micro needles in the shape of a blade. It is achieved with two sessions, sometimes a third session is necessary. The second session is approx. 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure.

DOES IT HURT?

Topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment begins to minimize discomfort. Everyones pain tolerance is different.

What happens at my first session?

During your first session (approx. 2 hours) you will start by filling out a consent form, and once that is completed, I will custom design your brow shape with pencil based on your bone structure, eye placement, face shape and other factors. Once your brow shape and pigment color are agreed upon, I apply the topical numbing cream. After letting the cream sit for about 15 minutes, I will then begin Microblading.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY EYEBROWS?

Microblading is known to last about 6-18 months depending on lifestyle and skin type. Certain skin types (oily and/or larger pores) may need touch ups more often. Semi annual touch-ups are recommended for everyone to freshen up browsFollowing careful aftercare will give you the best possible results with longer lasting brows! An after care sheet will be given to each client to take home after their procedure with instructions on how to take care of your freshly bladed brows. The aftercare is pretty simple and will yield great results as long as you don't break any rules!

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

  • Avoid plucking, waxing, and threading your brows for a couple of days leading up to your appointment.

  • Do not drink stimulating beverages such as caffeine, alcohol or energy drinks the night before or day of your treatment.

  • No sun tanning for three days prior.

  • Avoid any skin rejuvenation treatments for at least four weeks before your appointment.

  • Avoid all blood thinning medications 24 hours before such as Vitamin E, fish oil, aspirin, niacin and ibuprofen.

  • Avoid use of glycolic acid, chemical peels, Retin A, BHA’s, AHA’s, & eyebrow growth serum four weeks prior.

  • Avoid being on the drug accutane for 6 months prior to the procedure.

WILL MY MICROBLADED EYEBROWS CHANGE COLOR?

No; the pigments I use are highest quality options in the industry. The pigment stays true to color because they do not contain any iron oxide and/or metals unlike cheaper pigments.

HOW IS MICROBLADING DIFFERENT THAN TATTOOED EYEBROWS?

Microblading is the process of implanting pigment into the basal membrane (which divides the epidermis from the dermis layer of the skin) with a handheld tool, also known as a pen. This results in ultra fine lines that simulate hair strokes, unlike eyebrow tattooing which is done using a motorized device (causing the ink to be deposited in deeper layers of the skin) and ink which tends to “spill out” over time under the skin.

Microblading artists use pigment vs ink. Pigment has a thicker consistency while ink is more watery in texture and tends to have more staying power. Microbladed brows can last up to 3 years before fully fading out. The longevity of your brows will depend on skin type and lifestyle. People with oily skin and/or big pores will need touch ups more often as well as people who are more frequently exposed to the sun and/or tanning booths. I recommend a touch-up every 6-8 months to keep your brows fresh.

WHICH TIER TOUCH UP DO I BOOK?

We offer 3 tiers of touch up services:
Tier 1 is our most popular. This is suited for clients who last received services (touch up or full application) 4-8 weeks ago.
Tier 2 is for clients who last received services (touch up or full application) 2-6 months ago.
Tier 3 is for clients who last received services (touch up or full application) 6-12 months ago.

If you are unsure what touch up works best for you please email us!

WHAT HAPPENS AT MY TOUCH-UP SESSION?

At your touch-up session I will go over all of the original strokes, while also adding some new ones to create a layered (3D) look. I will also fill in any spots that the pigment didn't have full retention. It is completely normal to have some strokes that have “disappeared”, meaning the skin did not have good retention in that particular part of the brow or just that particular stroke after your first session. Minor tweaking can also be done on the over all shape and pigment color as well.

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE?

Following careful aftercare will give you the best possible results with longer lasting brows! An after care sheet will be given to each client to take home after their procedure with instructions on how to take care of your freshly bladed brows. The aftercare is pretty simple and will yield great results as long as you don't break any rules!

  • First hour after procedure, you are to blot your brows every 20 min to remove excess lymph fluid. Depending on the skin type, some people will be advised to apply the aftercare ointment on brows once a day for 7 days after the procedure. NOTE- if a client has more oily skin, ointment may not be needed.

  • Avoid getting eyebrows wet for 7-10 days. You will be given an eyebrow shield to wear which will protect your brows from direct water contact in the shower.

  • Avoid working out for the first 3-4 days to prevent heavy sweating. Heavy sweating during those first few days of healing could result in sweating the pigment right out!

  • When cleaning eyebrows, once a day, use a damp cotton pad to gently blot and clean brows before applying the aftercare. This should be done for 7 days.

  • No direct sun exposure.

  • No make-up or product on or near your brows for the first 7-10 days.

  • Do not pick, scratch, or peel the healing area.

  • Botox? Most of the plastic surgeons and dermatologists agree that 2 weeks before and after is a safe period to wait for Botox injections in conjunction with Microblading.

    PREVIOUSLY TATTOOED BROWS

I take corrective and touch up work based on approval only. I require anyone with previously tattooed brows/microbladed brows to either come into the studio for a consultation and send a clear photo of brows with no makeup on. If you book an appointment without disclosing any previous work done to your eyebrows, your appointment will be canceled and your deposit will be forfeited. Touch up prices are for my clients only, any new clients approved to book will be standard pricing.

*Please understand that results are not guaranteed as every client will respond differently to the procedure. Results vary from different skin types. After the service is complete, there are no refunds.*
